Croeso/Welcome to our website

The Sydney Welsh Choir has around 70 members, male and female, drawn from all parts of the greater Sydney area.  Since 1978 we have been responsible for putting the Wales into NSW. Not all choir members were born in Wales; some have Welsh family links while others simply like the music and the great atmosphere. We have a busy concert schedule and have enjoyed singing in some of the great performance venues in Sydney and around the world.  Since 1990 the choir has made six trips to Wales and parts of Europe, and we tour around NSW and interstate.

Practices are held most Wednesday evenings from 7pm-9pm at the church hall of Concord Baptist Church, Carrington St, North Strathfield, just off Concord Rd near the end of the M4. We welcome visitors or potential new choristers at practice sessions.  If you would like to know more please use the contact form below or phone 02 9630 2561.

It is with great sadness that the committee of Sydney Welsh Choir has decided it would be wise to suspend rehearsals and concerts during the Coronavirus COVID-19 health emergency. We are deeply disappointed at having to do this, but with most of our members and many people in our concert audiences being in a very vulnerable age group, we think it is important that we do our best to all stay safe by avoiding public gatherings. We are hopeful of resuming rehearsals in mid-July and fulfilling our concert engagements for the rest of the year, but will be guided by expert health advice before making these decisions. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you soon.
